Feb. 15, 2009: Dr. Korkin receives NSF CAREER Award.

Oct. 5, 2009: Prof. Elizabeth Blackburn at UCSF, with whom Prof. korkin collaborated on a project to study interactions between the telomeric proteins, and co-authored a 2008 paper (see Publications) received a 2009 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her discovery of telomerase, an enzyme that plays a key role in aging.
